Welcome New swimmers
Hello new parents and swimmers and welcome to the Portland swim team!
I'm your Team Manager. Basically I help communicate info about the swim season and answer questions. (i.e., I'm not your swimmer's coach! -- your swimmer's coach will be at GCC or wherever they chose to practice.)
We have 4 meets at GCC where we swim against all other middle schools in the county (HS swimmers swim at the meets too, though). If your swimmer makes a qualifying Regionals time, then they can go to Regionals (usually at Centennial in Nashville but location hasn't been finalized this year yet).
1) We mostly communicate through the Text messaging and email since there just 3 of us. Feel free to message me anytime of the day. 904-228-6455
2) Please REGISTER for the swim season - Direct link: https://portlandhs.swimtopia.com
Select the GCC form ($250 if your swimmer will be practicing at GCC - includes coaching fees) or the NON-GCC form ($150 if they will be practicing elsewhere). These fees are for the entire swim season.
3) If you choose to practice at GCC, practices are from 3:45-4:30pm Mon, Tue, Thu (2 days/week recommended). Please arrive 5-15 min earlier to change, stretch, etc.
5) Swimmers can wear whatever swim caps, goggles, suits to practices, but for MEETS, please have your swimmer wear one of these options in the Purple versions:
Men’s: Option1, Option2, Amazon1, Amazon2
Women’s, Option2, Option3, Amazon1, Amazon2

7) Meet schedule and most other info can be found on the SCSL website https://sumnercountyswim.swimtopia.com/ Please note that this website (and its meet management system) is new this year so please be patient as we work on making the transition as smooth as possible. Please read through the FAQs on the site.
8) Please download the Swimtopia app (link is on the homepage). Meet entry selection will be done through the app or the team page https://sumnercountyswim.swimtopia.com/teams . Meet results will also be available in the app (free for basic features).
9) I will send out more info on Sunday when I have the full Registration list!
